Tree Planting Fall 2008

Fall Planting 2008

Volunteer for any and all fall planting dates here.

Planting season has arrived, and here are the dates and locations of plantings this fall.  Fill out this form to volunteer at a planting--you can volunteer at as many as you would like!  Your name and contact information will go to the community contact for each planting and they will be in touch with you if there are any additional details.

Arrive ready to work: Wear long pants, closed-toed shoes, and dress in layers for the weather.  All plantings are rain or shine.  Bring a water bottle if you like.  Tools will be provided by Friends and by TreeVitalize Pittsburgh.

Plantings are made possible through TreeVitalize Pittsburgh, a joint project of the PA Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, Allegheny County, the City of Pittsburgh, and the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy.  Friends provides Tree Tender training and technical support.

Don't see your neighborhood listed, but know you are receiving TreeVitalize Trees?  Some communities chose to have their street trees planted by contractors.  These trees will still need care, but will not need volunteers to help put them in the ground.  If you have further questions about this, contact Marijke Hecht at mhecht@paconserve.org.

Tree Tenders have taken a tree planting, care, and biology course with Friends
