What a Busy April!

Wow, what a month April 2012 has been! Tree Pittsburgh cannot recall a spring season busier than this one!

Fall 2011 Tree Planting Season Comes to an End

As the fall of 2011 comes to an end, huge congratulations and thank yous are in order to all the communities who planted trees with TreeVitalize.  This planting season,  approximately 1150 landscape sized trees and 1480 restoration size trees were planted for about 2600 trees total!  Twenty-two Pittsburgh neighborhoods planted and 7 boroughs surrounding the City also planted trees this fall. 

Tree Planting: Brighton Heights, Larimer, Greenfield, Homewood

On Saturday 4/28, trees are being planted in the following neighborhoods:

 

Lawrenceville Tree Planting

Many new trees are being planted throughout Lawrenceville on Saturday April 21, and you can help plant them!

Tree Planting - South Side Trail

Join Tree Pittsburgh for a Friday the 13th Tree Planting!  (Hockey masks not required)

In this collaborative effort, Tree Pittsburgh will be partnering with Friends of the Riverfront, TreeVitalize Pittsburgh, FedEx employees, REI, and the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation to add over 400 new trees to the South Side Trail!

Programs

Tree Pittsburgh works throughout the City to protect and restore the urban forest through education, advocacy, tree planting and maintenance.  Our main programs and special projects help us to achieve this mission.

 

Tree Tenders: Tree Tenders participate in an 8-hour educational course about urban forestry, tree planting and care, and work hard in their communities to ensure a healthy       urban forest for generations to come.
