TreeVitalize Volunteer Tree Planting

It's tree planting season! Help make the Pittsburgh region greener by registering for a volunteer tree planting.

There are three plantings Saturday, April 22. Registration is required. Please wear long pants, close-toed shoes, and to dress for the weather. All plantings will be held rain or shine. Feel free to bring a reusable water bottle. All necessary tools will be provided.

Volunteer Tree Planting

There are two plantings Saturday, April 1. One is through TreeVitalize, and one is with the Pittsburgh Redbud Project through Western Pennsylvania Conservancy. Registration is required. Please wear long pants, close-toed shoes, and to dress for the weather. All plantings will be held rain or shine. Feel free to brin a reusable water bottle. All necessary tools will be provided.

Tree Planting with Saw Mill Run Watershed Association

Join the Saw Mill Run Watershed Association and Tree Pittsburgh to plant native trees along the Saw Mill Run stream. Plantings will occur in the Seldom Seen Greenway and the Ansonia Place floodplain. The trees will help improve water quality and prevent erosion by stabilizing the stream banks in these two critical areas.

Bring the entire family, a friend and your rubber boots for this fun watershed event.

*Some planting will occur on steep slopes*

Turtle Creek Restoration Planting

The Tree Pittsburgh Herritage Nursery partnered with the Municipality of Monroeville and the Allegheny Watershed Alliance to plant 50 trees and shrubs along 800’ of the northern riverbank of Turtle Creek to help with streambank stabilization. Ten different native, genetically diverse and locally adapted species were planted in effort to restore the riparian zone near Valley Park in Monroeville. This planting was funded by the Allegheny Watershed Alliance.

 

Miyawaki Tree Planting at Audubon Greenway III

Note: This event has been extended until 2pm, though volunteers are not obligated to stay for all 5 hours.

On Saturday November 12 from 9am-2pm (lunch included), Tree Pittsburgh and the Allegheny Land Trust will be planting 2,670 trees and we need your help!
