Western Pennsylvania Tree Climbing School

Date: May 14-18, 2012

Time: 8:30am – 4:30pm

Location: Devil’s Elbow Grove, North Park 

This five-day tree climbing school is sponsored by the Pennsylvania State University Cooperative Extension and the International Society of Arboriculture - Penn Del
Chapter. The school is designed to teach the fundamentals of safe tree climbing and maintenance. Major emphasis will be placed on learning the skills required
to climb and prune trees.

Join us on the afternoon of Sunday, April 1 as we prune trees along the lovely Bailey Avenue on Mt. Washington!

New trees have been planted all along Bailey from Ruth St down to Belzhoover Ave, and we need your help to help them grow tall and true!

Pruning Workshop - Highland Park - OPEN REGISTRATION

Calling all Tree Tenders! 

Come sharpen your pruning skills with us as we work to prune trees along Stanton Ave in Highland Park/East Liberty!

There are a number of oak trees planted along Stanton Ave that we need to prune this winter while the Oak Wilt vectors are dormant.  We also need to 'elevate' the branches to provide clearance for pedestrians and vehicles.

Tree Pittsburgh will provide all tools and safety equipment necessary to participate.

Pruning Workshop - East Liberty Blvd

Calling all Tree Tenders! 

Come sharpen your pruning skills with us as we work to prune trees along East Liberty Blvd!

Many trees have been planted along the median of East Liberty Blvd, and they're all in need of our pruning prowess to help them grow tall and true!

We'll keep you toasty with warm drinks, but it's likely to be cold so bring your mittens and your long johns.  

Tree Pittsburgh will provide all tools and safety equipment necessary to participate.

Practice Your Pruning Skills, Saturday January 14th!

Pruning young trees is one of the most important actions you can take to help them
thrive in the built environment.  Whether in your backyard, on your front sidewalk, or in your neighborhood park, shaping young trees through proper pruning practices will help them grow healthy and strong, and prevent potential problems in the future. 

This Saturday Tree Pittsburgh will be leading a Pruning Workshop on the South Side Trail where we’ll cover important lessons such as:

Saturday, November 17th, 1pm-3pm , Coro Center for Civic Leadership, Terminal Buildings

Learn the basics of pruning, or refresh your pruning skills in this hands-on workshop with Tree Pittsburgh’s Certified Arborists. Attendees will be introduced to pruning basics in a lecture setting, receive class materials, and then try their hands at the art and science of pruning on the South Side Riverfront Trail.

$15 for Tree Tenders, $20 all others

Southside Trail Pruning Workshop

Calling all Tree Tenders! 

Come sharpen your pruning skills with us as we work to prune trees along the South Side Trail!

Over a hundred trees have been planted between 4th and 10th Streets, and they're all in need of our pruning prowess to help them grow tall and true!

We'll keep you toasty with warm drinks, but it's likely to be cold so bring your mittens and your long johns.
