Tree Pittsburgh exchanges ideas with colleagues from Russia

Tree Pittsburgh partnered with Obvinskaya Roza to submit a grant application through the U.S.-Russia Peer to Peer Dialogue Program. Tree Pittsburgh's application was one of 30 selected from a pool of over 320 applicants. The program began with an exchange of urban forestry experts between Perm, Russia and Pittsburgh. Both cities share an industrial past and are well-forested. While Perm is working to preserve its native ecology, Pittsburgh is working hard to restore its ecology.

Goats in Pittsburgh!

Tree Pittsburgh regularly uses human volunteers to weed, mulch, and water trees around the city. Soon, a new kind of volunteer will join the ranks at Tree Pittsburgh: goats.

Tuesday, July 8 from 8:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m., goats will take to a hillside in Polish Hill as part of a restoration project organized by Tree Pittsburgh and funded by the Alcoa Foundation and American Forests’ Global ReLeaf Partnership for Trees.

2014 Arbor Day of Service

In preparation for the International Society of Arborists (ISA) Penn-Del Chapter's Tree Climbing Championship Saturday, May 17, more than a dozen tree care companies are coming together for the ISA Penn-Del Chapter's Western Arbor Day of Service to prepare the competition site in Dormont Park.
