Plant Trees this Fall!

The fall 2012 tree planting season is about to begin!

Treevitalize, a partnership between Allegheny County, the City of Pittsburgh, the PA Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, Tree Pittsburgh, and the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy, will be planting trees with volunteers in 28 locations this season, making it our busiest tree planting season in five years!

Every tree planting will need numerous volunteers. Volunteers do not need to have tree planting experience to participate; Treevitalize Staff and Tree Tenders will demonstrate proper planting techniques at the start of each planting. There are jobs for everyone, regardless of ability.

Communities receiving trees this season include:
Millvale, Allegheny West, Aspinwall, Brentwood, Carnegie Carrick, Crafton, East Liberty, East Pittsburgh, Elliot, Friendship, Heidelberg , Highland Park, Homewood, Homewood Cemetery, Lawrenceville, Mount Washington, North Shore Heritage Trail, Central Oakland, South Oakland, Regent Square, South Side, Swissvale, Shadyside Flats, Tarentum, and Troy Hill.
