"Tree Tenders are the national guard of the arborist world: a civilian group taking care of what the pros can't quite get to." -Pittsburgh City Paper, Best Way to Get Your Hands Dirty, 2011
Tree Tenders are making a difference in Pittsburgh, planting trees and caring for existing ones--ensuring a healthy urban forest for generations to come.
Tree Tenders take an 8 hour course and learn about urban forestry practices, tree biology and health, proper planting, pruning, and maintenance, and lead their communities in organizing tree plantings and tree care there.
